It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has won it all.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to deliver her newest gem.

Originally famous as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

If this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the argument supporting championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," commented Healy.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there Healy was in motion.

"The possibility to play and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if we do, we believe we can achieve it."

These statements will be the last rival teams at this tournament should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wished she had played despite the injury.

However although she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is expected to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
