Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a former doctor now faces charges for performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
